Quinta da Vila Maria is a former wine merchant’s country house, winery and vineyard located in the beautiful and unspoilt Serra de São Mamede Natural Park, near to Portalegre. Built around 100 years ago, with Art Deco influences, a sympathetic restoration has recently been completed and this unique house now provides guest apartments with modern and comfortable facilities, whilst still retaining the original character and period features.
Each apartment is bright and spacious and has a double bedroom with Queen sized bed, ensuite bathroom, living/dining area with broadband Internet connection and a kitchenette. They are furnished to a high standard and contain everything you need for a comfortable holiday.
The Quinta is in a peaceful location on the edge of the friendly village of Reguengo and is set in 7½ acres/3 hectares of traditional vineyard and pasture with many olive, cork and fruit trees. It is ideally
located for exploring the Serra de São Mamede Natural Park, which is an excellent place for walking, mountain biking, bird watching or horse riding. Whichever way you choose to explore the Park, amongst the hills and valleys you will discover clean air, panoramic views and rare native flora and fauna. Alternatively, make the Quinta your base for day trips. There are many historic towns, castles, Roman remains, museums and other places of interest within easy reach. If you are interested in wine, Reguengo and the surrounding area is a renowned wine producing region with a number of wineries nearby. Or if you simply want to relax, the Quinta offers a calm and restful atmosphere under a warm, blue sky!
